ESP Group – English for Specific Purposes

These courses are suitable for students who are studying for a career in particular sectors, or professionals wanting to develop their English language skills.

Each course is designed to meet the group’s specific needs, and therefore highly suitable for organisations that require specialist language training for their employees. During this course students will also study the language of meetings, learn how to negotiate effectively in English, learn the art of presenting in English and enjoy company visits.

 

25 hours of lessons per week including:

Concorde International

15 hours of General English language tuition—in a closed group or with other international students

10 hours of English for Specific Purposes— in a closed group

English for Business Communication

Develop English speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.
Learn how to change language style according to the situation.

Entrepreneurs & Intrepreneurs

Finance

Develop theoretical understanding of international business practice.
Expand functional and financial vocabulary.
Improve confidence negotiating, running meetings and giving presentations.
Produce more concise and accurate business reports and written correspondence.

Health & Safety

Broaden knowledge of health and safety vocabulary.
Develop functional language and communication skills in a workplace context.
Develop critical thinking through practical application.
Gain an international perspective of the role.

Maritime Industry

Develop pronunciation, listening, reading and writing of English.
Communicate confidently with the crew, passengers, and shore based staff.
Practise new vocabulary through discussion and simulations of radiotelephone communication.

Nursing

Practise new vocabulary through simulation of real-life situations.
Communicate more confidently and accurately with colleagues.
Be able to speak with patients in non-technical terms.
More readily understand and write medical texts.

Oil & Gas
